English Paper Piecing

The Paper Piecing for the 4 larger blocks with this design are now finished. I changed the fabrics around quite a bit before I appliqued them to the background. Some fabrics work so much better than others when it comes to fussy cutting them.
The next 4 blocks have applique.

I've also started on my Antique Prairie Rose quilt. I finally found a green I liked.
It is Moda's Bella Solid - Fig Green and after a couple of days cutting  all the pieces out I have the 1st block ready to sew.  The yellow pieces in the three top flowers are reverse applique so they will finish with a lot less red showing. It measures 28" X 29".

the paper pieced blocks are great, its fun to see the patterns come about from the fussy cutting,I agree with you though.

I really like the Antique Prairie Rose design. The green you selected works well. I think I would like to try a similar design. I have really been into applique of late.

Love both of the projects you are working on, I am using the same red background fabric in your first project . If only I could get motivated to start sewing again.

I'm just hooked on paper piecing now after I tried it. It's so addictive. I love the red you're using for the background! So rich.

Dorothy, I really like your Prairie Rose block. The shape of the leaves gives it a lot of character. And the leaves at the base add interest, too.
