It's been a while

My last post had a picture of this bundle of fabric from the range Bella Suede Collection by P&B Textiles, Basics. A collection of bright tone-on-tone colours.

and this is what I have come up with after several days of thinking, several days of cutting and many more days of sewing. I finally finished it last night. It is almost 60" square. The first photo was taken with just the lights in the room on....

and this photo is with the camera flash on.

I got a new camera for my birthday which will take a bit of time to work out if I'm ever game enough to switch off the Auto button. The camera informed me the flash was needed but I think the clear colours in the first photo are closer to the actual colours. Here are a couple of close-ups of the fabrics so that you can see the designs.

and todays job has been completed. It's that time of the year again.

and my Christmas Cactus quilt is up too.

Great color combinations in your quilt, looks like a lot of cutting and sewing. Was worth the while, such a beautiful top.

The P&B fabrics made a nice size quilt. Plenty of fat quarters to work with. A simple block and showcases the fabrics nicely.
Your Christmas Cactus quilt is perfect to display for the holidays. I like!

Those are gorgeous fabrics and a gorgeous quilt, can't wait to see how you will quilt it. I really want to concentrate on quilting this year and taking the time to make nice ones for my home.

That Christmas Cactus block pattern has been sitting in my sewing room waiting patiently. You have done a wonderful job on both projects.

The colours are almost luminous ! interesting the difference a flash makes isn't it? - seems to have warmed up the colours - have fun with the camera over Christmas :)

What a truly varied group of quilts! They are all great, love the top quilt, I like the controlled colour palette, I have seen scrappy versions of this block, they are wonderful too. The bundle of fabrics have made a lovely quilt! I do particularly your Christmas quilt, I have really fallen in love with applique over the past couple of years, the fabrics are perfect, you have inspired me to make a Christmas quilt for my entrance hall! Happy holiday season to you and your family! Thanks for sharing your quilting journey, I love to see what you are making.
