Coming home after a couple of weeks away to find the Almond Prunus in all it's glory.
I managed to finish the last of the Cross blocks I had cut out, to find if I wanted to set them on point I need another seven. A job for another day.
Lori, Humble Quilts blog's new Mystery Doll's quilt started.
First up two Cretonne stars.
and two Bronze stars
and a Lancaster Blue star.
This month's Under the Cherry Tree block minus all the berries and some of the grapes. TBC.
All I see is a face. I need to add more small circles on the vase or remove the 'mouth'. Do you agree?
LOL I see the face now though I'd not have if you hadn't written that!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would have seen the face of you didn't point it out, but it's very obvious now. I think some more berries will do the trick. Hopefully Spring will last for a while before summer hits.
ReplyDeleteI saw it straight away, like some mad bear with the handles as ears. Something must be done...I'd probably remove the mouth and put in more berries. Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice the face until you pointed it out. More circles I think - it wouldn't take too many. Lovely fabrics for Lori's quiltalong. I haven't started mine yet but I mean to :0)
ReplyDeleteNow that you mention it...it's a face! You have been busy. I wish I could be that motivated!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see all the blossom trees at the moment. I saw the face and then read your comment and had a laugh! I'm sure some more berries would help. All lovely projects :)
ReplyDeleteLots of wonderful projects. The red mouth does throw it off, lol.
ReplyDeleteI would make it larger and more like a half circle, instead of the mouth shape, that should solve it?
Debbie
Oh how funny. That is the first thing I saw in the block as well. A cute face though! Your stars are beautiful. I'm still a few weeks behind. Your tree is lovey. We are heading into Fall and the only thing flowing in my yard are asters (AKA weeds).
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have some fun projects going (even if one has a face LOL). I LOVE those crosses in the first project!!!
ReplyDeleteI see a sad face on the flower pot. Maybe a change of color on what looks like the mouth to something closer to the pot color.
ReplyDeleteYour cross blocks are a hit with me! Nice.
Those cross blocks are lovely. Love the choice of colours.
ReplyDeleteCould you modify the sad mouth in some way? Turn it up the other way? Or remove it completely. Otherwise it is a pretty block.
Dorothy! Love your stars and so happy to see that you are still working on you BTCT blocks. I think once you get all your cherries on the one bowl, you won't see a face and the quilting will really set it off, so I wouldn't worry about that "face" right now. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks. Yes, the 'face' needs to be tweeked somehow. Smile
