Fridays
On Fridays I go to Somerset patchwork shop and sit and chat and sew with about 16 - 20 other ladies. We laugh, sometimes too loud for the customers, and have a great day. Karen, who owns the shop, shows us what gadgets, templates, patterns and fabrics are new. Last week she had a delivery of bags for holding our thread, scissors etc and I bought one. A great little travelling bag. It comes with foam on both sides of the bag so that they can be covered. On the side with the pocket I used my Feedsack fabrics and on the other side I used a X stitch I made years ago but was ideal in theme and size. Here are some photos to see what it now looks like.
Looks great Dorothy! That cross stitch verse is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI haven't even started mine yet!
That is a wonderful idea to make your own case designs. I always see things like that in the sale aisles for make up bags, might just work.

Very cute! Looks really nice for taking along to sewing groups! I am forever looking for the perfect system for multiple projects. My solution is a covered binder.
ReplyDeleteGreat bag. You did a beautiful job and I love the cross stitch.
ReplyDeleteNice bag - and so custom!
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of organizing options insode too.
Great little sewing case and what a clever idea.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work, and so handy on the inside.
ReplyDeletei have been using one of these for a while now and only just realised there was a pocket on the "bottom side" ... Duh!! I t just always sits with the pocket on the bottom so i never see it. T'would make more sense to have put it on the "top" . Can i ask how you attached your lovely panels? were you able to stitch through the green foam or di you glue them?
ReplyDeleteI love that it could be personalised and it looks great with the cross stitch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a LOVELY bag ... I'm looking for something like that to hold my supplies for my handpiecing work. That would be perfect! And I love the personalizations you made.
