It's been a while but.......

I have been busy sewing and not much to show til now. I have been sewing the  applique on the side borders and finally finished them. The next job was to get the pattern drawn for the top and bottom borders. This done I sat it out on the table and started yesterday to pick fabrics and get them cut. So this is where I am with Auntie Green.


To have a break from the applique I decided to start a quilt for Grace. Here is a photo of the first 6 blocks. I have the backgrounds cut to size and the pattern pieces traced on to 'heat n bond' so far. I will machine buttonhole - stitch the lot after I have picked the fabrics and cut them out . The pattern is by The Chook Shed and is called Everyday Angels.



I have been part of a Swap with an online Primitive sewing group. The task was to make and send a Needleroll to another. Yesterday I received my Needleroll from Imi in the Netherlands. It is made of felted wool and all hand sewn. This is a picture of the front.

    What a beautiful quilt, that is going to be. Angels are great quilts to give as gifts.

    Your Auntie Green quilt is looking wonderful!!! I like the Angels too and would be thrilled with the needle roll. Too bad you can't share a picture of yours with us. I am sure it is great.

    Love the colors in your Auntie Green. I have my center ready, and some leaf color ideas. Grace's angel quilt is very sweet. The needle keep is very special.

    Your Auntie Green quilt is so lovely. The fabrics you are choosing are just perfect! The needle book that Imi made you is just precious. I treasure items she and I exchanged in a swap a few years ago.

      Looks like you used two different black and white shirtings. Do you know what collection or manufacturer they are?

      I have a white with brown design shirting I like by (Andover #7003 Renee Nanneman is the designer) that I am thinking about using. Still pondering.
