The next 4 blocks have applique.
I've also started on my Antique Prairie Rose quilt. I finally found a green I liked.
It is Moda's Bella Solid - Fig Green and after a couple of days cutting all the pieces out I have the 1st block ready to sew. The yellow pieces in the three top flowers are reverse applique so they will finish with a lot less red showing. It measures 28" X 29".

OH I JUST LOVE your new block!!!! ah yes thats a wonderful green.
Can't wait to start mine too!
the paper pieced blocks are great, its fun to see the patterns come about from the fussy cutting,I agree with you though.
looking forward to seeing the applique blocks

I really like the Antique Prairie Rose design. The green you selected works well. I think I would like to try a similar design. I have really been into applique of late.
Love your new pieces, such beautiful work and applique.
I really need to practice more so I can make some, this year.

Love both of the projects you are working on, I am using the same red background fabric in your first project . If only I could get motivated to start sewing again.
I'm just hooked on paper piecing now after I tried it. It's so addictive. I love the red you're using for the background! So rich.
Dorothy, I really like your Prairie Rose block. The shape of the leaves gives it a lot of character. And the leaves at the base add interest, too.
Love that applique block.
